Tinubu Holds Emergency Meeting with APC Leaders in Abuja

On Monday, Bola Tinubu summoned 76 leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State to the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, to address growing discontent within the party ahead of the August 15 governorship election. The meeting was prompted by a report from National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, which indicated that many APC leaders felt sidelined in party affairs, including the ongoing campaign.

Tinubu directed the leaders to unify efforts to ensure the party's candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, wins the election. The leaders were provided chartered flights from Ibadan, Oyo State, and some traveled from Lagos.

Notable attendees included former Speaker of the House of Representatives Olubunmi Ete and former state House of Assembly speakers Mojeed Alabi, Adejare Bello, and Wale Afolabi. Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the APC, coordinated the meeting arrangements.

The gathering allowed leaders to express grievances and discuss strategies to improve the party's chances in the upcoming election.
