Osun IPAC Condemns Vote Buying, Congratulates Adeleke

The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State condemned reported incidents of alleged vote buying during the 2026 governorship election, labeling it a threat to the integrity of the democratic process. IPAC Chairman Odesola Oluseye Titus made this statement on Sunday following the election's conclusion, stressing that vote buying undermines democracy and fairness.

He urged stakeholders to address this issue in future elections to uphold democratic principles. Titus also commended security agencies for their role in maintaining peace during the electoral process, allowing citizens to vote without fear.

He congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, stating that the outcome reflects the people's confidence in his leadership and vision for Osun State. Additionally, he praised Osun voters for their turnout and acknowledged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free and credible election, while urging the commission to resolve issues related to the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) before future elections.
