Osun IPAC Election Delayed Due to Missing Committee Members

The election for new leadership of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Osun State faced delays on Saturday due to the absence of members from the electoral committee. The event was scheduled to occur at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Osogbo.

When correspondents arrived at the venue around 11 AM, 19 political party chairmen had signed the register, but by 2:14 PM, the election had not commenced. Adesoji Masilo, a representative, indicated that the absence of committee members was the reason for the delay.

When contacted, Chinyer Kalu from the national secretariat of IPAC declined to explain the cause of the delay. Olusola Adeoy, contesting for the position of vice chairman, expressed concern over the absence of electoral officials.

Two candidates, Tosin Odeyemi from the New Nigeria Peoples Party and Victor Akand, the incumbent chairman, were vying for the chairman position, with Akand seeking re-election.
