Police Arrest Customs Officers Over Shooting Incident

The Osun State Police Command arrested two Customs officers linked to a shooting incident that occurred in Dada Estate, Osogbo. According to the command's spokesperson, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, the officers were involved in a chase of a suspect in a Tokunbo foreign vehicle when the incident took place.

The driver of an ash-colored Toyota Corolla, who was being pursued, was shot and later confirmed dead at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital. The victim's identity has not yet been disclosed, and his body has been deposited in the morgue.

Items recovered from the scene included a Beretta pistol with a breach number of 125024, 11 rounds of 9mm live ammunition, and a spent 9mm shell. Additionally, a white Toyota Corolla with Lagos registration number AAA 400 GQ and the ash Toyota Corolla with registration number GFQ 0982 were also recovered.

The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, has ordered a thorough investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and has assured the public that anyone found culpable will face the full wrath of the law, urging residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies.
