Customs Officers Arrested for Shooting Osun Driver

On Sunday, the Osun State Police Command arrested two officers from the Nigeria Customs Service, identified as Kolawole Suuti and Danjuma Samuel, following a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a driver in Osogbo. The incident occurred in the Dada Estate area when the officers allegedly pursued a Toyota Corolla vehicle, which was reported to be a foreign Tokunbo model.

During the chase, the officers opened fire, hitting the driver, who was later confirmed dead at the Osun State University Teaching Hospital. The police recovered several items from the scene, including a Beretta pistol and live ammunition.

The police spokesperson, Abiodun Ojelabi, stated that the officers are currently in custody, and the Commissioner of Police for Osun State, Ibrahim Gotan, has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The police urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies during the investigation.
