Police Investigate Killing of Driver by Customs Officers

The Osun State Police Command is investigating the shooting death of 41-year-old Anayo Azikw Michael, who was allegedly killed by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service on Sunday along the Iwo-Osogbo road. The incident occurred near a police roadblock, approximately 10 meters away, and has led to public outrage, with residents gathering at the scene demanding a thorough investigation and accountability for those responsible.

Abiodun Ojelabi, a spokesperson for the Osun State Police Command, confirmed the incident and identified the alleged shooter as Kolawole Suuti Danjuma Samuel, an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service. The police have not disclosed the identity of the deceased during interviews.

The Osun State Customs Office has been linked to the incident, and the police command is examining all aspects of the case to ensure a comprehensive investigation. Ojelabi stated that the police will leave no stone unturned in getting to the root of the matter.
