Osun Police Investigate Murder of Accord Party Loyalist

The Osun State Police Command has begun an investigation into the murder of Olalekan Oyeyemi, also known as “Emir Ajagungbade,” who was shot in Ile-Ife, Osun State, on Sunday. Oyeyemi was recognized as a dedicated supporter of the Accord Party.

Following reports of an incident near the energy filling station in Ile-Ife, police officers were dispatched to the scene to restore order and investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Preliminary findings indicated that Oyeyemi had been shot.

The police command is focused on uncovering both the immediate and underlying causes of the shooting, identifying those responsible, and ensuring that all culpable individuals are brought to justice. Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Zungura, condemned the act and cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands or engaging in retaliatory violence.

He expressed condolences to Oyeyemi's family and friends, reaffirming the police's commitment to maintaining peace and public order in the state.
