Adeleke's Camp Warns Against Violence Ahead of Osun Poll

The Imole Campaign Council, which supports Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, issued a statement on Sunday expressing concerns about alleged political violence and intimidation as the August 15, 2026 governorship election approaches. Spokesman Pelumi Olajengbesi highlighted reports from various communities indicating rising fears among residents regarding intimidation linked to political activities.

The council's assessment revealed that voters are inclined to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to concerns over political intimidation and insecurity associated with the opposition. The council praised Adeleke's administration for timely salary payments, infrastructure modernization, and public institution revitalization.

They called on the Inspector General of Police, the Department of State Services, and other security agencies to safeguard citizens' rights and ensure the electoral process's integrity. The council emphasized that the election outcome should reflect the will of Osun residents, free from fear or coercion.
