Adeleke Vows to Resist Intimidation Ahead of Election

Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State and Accord Party governorship candidate, expressed his administration's commitment to resisting intimidation and provocations in a series of tweets on his X handle. He highlighted the importance of managing state resources and improving citizens' lives.

Adeleke thanked party loyalists in Ayedaade Local Government Area for their support, noting the large turnout for his campaign team. He reiterated the need for peaceful and vigilant support as the August 15 governorship election approaches, stating that unity and discipline are crucial responses to intimidation.

The Nigerian Bar Association criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for freezing the Osun State Government's bank account without legal basis, while the state’s Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, defended the administration against allegations of financial misconduct, claiming the EFCC acted on former Governor Gboyega Oyetola's directive to hinder worker palliatives.
