NSCDC Deploys 10,210 Personnel for Osun Governorship Election

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 10,210 personnel and specialized tactical units to Osun State in preparation for the governorship election. Commandant General Prof.

Ahmed Audi ordered the deployment, which began on Monday, to protect voters, electoral officials, and materials from threats and violence. Personnel from 10 neighboring state commands, including Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, Lagos, Kwara, Edo, Kogi, Delta, and the Federal Capital Territory, will reinforce the Osun State Command.

The deployment includes uniformed and undercover operatives, operating under an inter-agency security framework. Specialized formations such as the CG’s Special Intelligence Squad, SWAT Unit, and others will enhance intelligence gathering and crowd control.

Deputy Commandant General Ayuba Phillip will oversee operations in Osun State. Audi emphasized the Corps' commitment to professionalism and warned against electoral disruptions, stating that criminal activities would not be tolerated and would face legal consequences as per the Electoral Act.
