PDP Congratulates Adeleke on Osun Governorship Victory

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the governorship election held on Saturday, acknowledging it as a reflection of the people's confidence in him. In a statement by National Publicity Secretary Jungudo Mohammed, the PDP recognized the significance of Adeleke's re-election and wished him success in his new four-year term.

Adeleke, who won the election on the Accord Party's platform, secured 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 444,815 votes, resulting in a margin of 66,252 votes. The election featured 15 political parties, with former Speaker Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress finishing third with 17,180 votes.

Adeleke's victory marks a notable increase in his electoral margin compared to the 2022 election. The PDP urged all political actors to respect the election outcome and prioritize the welfare of the people of Osun State.
