Makinde, Dickson Congratulate Adeleke on Re-election

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Senator Henry Seriake Dickson congratulated Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State, describing the victory as significant for Nigeria's democracy. Adeleke, who contested the governorship election on August 15 under the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes, defeating Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 444,815 votes.

The margin of victory was 66,252 votes, with Adeleke winning in 19 out of 30 local government areas. Makinde praised Adeleke's hard work and commitment to good governance, and commended the people of Osun State for their courage in voting despite alleged violence and federal interference.

He emphasized that the election results reaffirmed the people's power in a democracy and urged Adeleke to use his re-election as motivation for further development in Osun State. Makinde also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for the smooth conduct of the election, calling it a litmus test for the upcoming 2027 general elections.
