Adeleke Urges Tinubu to Protect Votes in Osun Election

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke appealed to President Bola Tinubu to instruct security agencies to protect the electoral process as the collation of results for the governorship election commenced. In a post on X, Adeleke expressed concerns about alleged attempts to disrupt collation centres, stating that such actions by politicians were "deeply concerning and unacceptable." He urged Tinubu to ensure that the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigerian Army, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps adhere to directives to safeguard the integrity of the election.

Adeleke emphasized the importance of ensuring that the votes of Osun residents are counted and that the final outcome reflects their choices. He commended the voters for their turnout and called for vigilance as results move from polling units to local government collation centres.

Adeleke expressed confidence in the security provided by the federal government and urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to maintain high standards throughout the collation process.
