Adeleke Wins Osun Governorship Election by 66,252 Votes

Ademola Adeleke was declared the winner of the Osun State gubernatorial election on Sunday, securing 511,067 votes against Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who garnered 444,815 votes, resulting in a margin of 66,252 votes. Najeem Salaam of the ADC finished third with 17,180 votes.

A total of 985,079 votes were valid, with 20,721 rejected. Despite challenges, including the freezing of state accounts by the EFCC and allegations of violence, Adeleke's victory solidifies his political platform for a second term.

The Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Egbedun, also emerged with a strengthened position, despite facing accusations of violence during the campaign. The election process was managed by INEC, led by Prof. Joshua Ogunwole, who successfully navigated various technical issues and security incidents on election day.

Oyebamiji's defeat reflects a significant setback for the APC amid attempts to unify opposition forces against Adeleke.
