Otti Commissions Upgraded Power Plant at Abia University

On March 27, Governor Alex Otti commissioned an upgraded 5MVA power plant at Abia State University in Uturu, increasing its capacity to improve electricity supply within the institution. This commissioning was part of activities marking the university's combined 30th and 32nd convocation ceremonies.

In addition to the power plant, Otti inaugurated three retrofitted hostel blocks, a new 5,000-bed capacity hostel for male and female students, and a new Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Law building. He also flagged off a 1.8km internal road project within the campus.

Otti emphasized that these projects reflect his administration's commitment to addressing critical infrastructural challenges in the state's education sector. The Vice Chancellor, Prof.

Ndukw Okeudo, and the Student Union Government President, Comrad Emmanuel Ugwuanyi, expressed appreciation for the governor's efforts to improve student welfare and accommodation. The upgraded power station aligns with Otti's broader push for industrialization and infrastructural development in Abia State.
