Otti Addresses Kidnapping Attempts in Abia State

On February 3, 2023, Abia State Governor Alex Otti addressed the media regarding two separate kidnapping attempts that occurred in Olokoro and Ubakala within the Umuahia South Local Government Area. The suspects involved were reportedly cattle herders.

Governor Otti assured the public that the situation is under control and that the police have been informed about the incidents. He emphasized the importance of implementing procedures to prevent such occurrences in the future.

The governor also highlighted the intervention of the Abia State Homeland Security in response to the incidents. In addition to discussing security issues, Otti reviewed various achievements across sectors in Abia's economy, including the flag-off of the Enyimba Hotel reconstruction project, which is earmarked for repair by the state government, with 80 percent funding from the government and 20 percent from private investors.
