Otti Calls for South-East Governors' Support for Enugu Law School

Abia State Governor Alex Otti expressed his readiness to collaborate with South-East governors to upgrade the Nigerian Law School's Enugu campus. This statement was made during a meeting focused on law development initiatives held at the Government House in Umuahia, as disclosed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ukoha Njoku, on Tuesday.

Otti's pledge followed concerns raised by the Chairman of the Coordinating Group, Emeka Ngige, SAN, regarding the poor condition of the institution's facilities. He called for a formal request to be sent to the Chairman of the South East Governor Forum to enable broader engagement.

Otti commended the role of legal practitioners in society and urged them to participate actively in politics, stressing that governance decisions significantly affect citizens. He reiterated his administration's commitment to education and highlighted ongoing efforts to develop a modern law faculty at Abia State University in Uturu.

Otti also pledged support for state government pro bono legal services.
