APC Chieftain Accuses Abia Governor of Weaponizing Taxation Against Traders

Paul Ikonn, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, has accused Governor Alex Otti of weaponizing taxation against traders in the state, leading to untold hardship. Ikonn highlighted the inflation of levies from N18,000 to N36,000, pushing struggling traders deeper into economic misery.

The enforcement of these high levies has resulted in traders facing coercion, assault, and brutal consequences for non-compliance, with shops being sealed and traders forced to pay exorbitant amounts. The situation has raised concerns about the governor's tax policies and their impact on ordinary citizens in Abia State.
