Over 10,000 Teachers Register for TRCN Exam in Nigeria

The Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) reported that over 10,000 teachers successfully registered for the qualifying examination set for May 14-16, 2026. Dr.

Ronk Soyombo, the Registrar and Chief Executive of TRCN, stated that the digital registration portal, launched in September 2025, has significantly modernized the teacher registration and licensing process in Nigeria. Although the portal experienced initial difficulties due to high traffic and demand, it has since been upgraded to enhance performance and security.

Dr. Soyombo emphasized that these challenges were part of the normal adjustment process and not indicative of a failure of the digital initiative.

The TRCN aims to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the registration process nationwide. Furthermore, Dr.

Soyombo commended the patience and cooperation of teachers during this transition and clarified that registration forms are exclusively sold through the official TRCN portal to eliminate fraudulent practices.
