Oyebanji Advocates Financial Reforms for Local Governments

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji is pushing for practical reforms aimed at strengthening the financial health of local government councils. He articulated this during a three-day workshop on fiscal administration and due process, held in Ado Ekiti.

Oyebanji stressed that effective local government administration is crucial for grassroots transformation and development. He highlighted that the success of his administration at the grassroots level relies on the competent management of public resources, which necessitates capacity building.

The workshop, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, aimed to address critical areas such as fiscal administration and enhancing internal revenue generation. Oyebanji noted that adherence to due process minimizes corruption and waste, thereby improving development outcomes.

He charged participants to adopt modern techniques in revenue administration and financial planning. The workshop was facilitated by Folorunso Olabod and aimed to provide practical insights and strategies for transforming fiscal management practices in local governments.
