Oyo Police Arrest Four Suspected Cattle Rustlers

On March 13, 2026, at approximately 2:00 AM, the Oyo State Police Command arrested four suspected cattle rustlers and recovered five stolen cows in Ado-Away. The operation was led by DSP Olayinka Ayanlad and involved a combined team of police and local security partners, including vigilantes.

The police received a report about armed hoodlums invading a camp in the Igbojay area, prompting immediate action. Upon arrival at the scene, the police discovered that the suspects had loaded two cows into a white Mazda vehicle with registration number KMA 178 ZY and were in the process of loading three more cows when the police patrol team approached.

The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into the bush. The joint team also found two cattle herders, Ibrahim Musa and Ibrahim Umaru, who were with the suspects during the operation.
