Oyo State Pensioners Warned of Extortion Cartel Within Civil Service

The Oyo State government has raised concerns about a gratuity extortion cartel within the civil service, led by individuals posing as government officials. Dotun Oyelad, in a press release, disclosed the alarming trend of pensioners being asked to pay a percentage of their gratuities to expedite payment.

Governor Seyi Makinde has increased monthly gratuities by 200% to address the issue. The government urges retirees to adhere strictly to the official payment processes to avoid falling victim to the illegal practices.
