Oyo State Approves ₦900M for Road Construction and Vehicles

The Oyo State Government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, has approved the release of ₦900,000,000 as counterpart funding for the construction of 68 kilometers of roads across the state. This funding will enable the state to access ₦16,273,711,000 from two international financial bodies, including the French Development Agency.

The decision was made during an Executive Council meeting chaired by Dotun Oyelade, where it was also disclosed that road maintenance work would commence, including the rehabilitation of 8.43 km at Fashola Farm Settlement and 37 km at Alako Idi Iya Batak Olowa Farm Settlement. Additionally, the council approved the procurement of 100 double cabin pick-up trucks, comprising 80 Mitsubishi L200 and 20 Toyota Hilux, at a total cost of ₦5,772,500,000.

The council also reviewed contracts related to the Oyo State Business Process Automation Project, aimed at modernizing civil service operations and enhancing service delivery.
