Oyo NDC Members Petition Against State Chairman's Conduct

On July 20, 2026, members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Oyo submitted a petition to the party’s national leadership, alleging abuse of office and anti-democratic practices by the state chairman, Mrs Oyeronke Akinlolu. The petition was signed by Engr.

Oshiariyo Stephen Adeyinka and other members and addressed to the National Chairman through the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja. Copies were sent to Deputy National Chairman (South West) Prince Adesina Adekunle and National Leader Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.

The petitioners expressed concerns that Akinlolu's actions could undermine the party's credibility and electoral prospects. They accused her of making unilateral decisions without consulting the State Executive Committee, suppressing internal democracy, and creating an intimidating atmosphere.

Additionally, they claimed over 50 members were removed from the party's official Oyo State WhatsApp platform without due process, further alienating committed members and weakening communication within the party.
