Ondo NDC to Appeal Court Ruling, Vows to Continue Activities

The Ondo State chapter of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its intention to continue political activities and challenge a recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which questioned the party's legal registration. The NDC, represented by its chairman Kennedi Ikantu Peretei, stated that the court did not order the party's deregistration, thus maintaining that its activities remain valid pending the outcome of an appeal.

The party's legal team has been directed to immediately challenge the court's decision. The NDC emphasized that it is registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and operates within the framework of the Electoral Act.

Additionally, the Bauchi State chapter of the NDC, led by Alhaji Abdullahi Maigari, confirmed that an appeal has already been filed against the ruling. The NDC expressed confidence that justice will prevail and condemned attempts to undermine Nigeria's democratic process.
