Oyo Police Investigate Fatal Ibadan Tanker Accident

On Wednesday, the Oyo State Police Command announced the commencement of an investigation into a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on Tuesday in Ibadan. The incident involved a Mack truck belonging to Bova Oil, which lost control in the Beer area and subsequently crashed into multiple tricycles along the Oj Market axis.

This tragic accident resulted in the unfortunate deaths of a man and a woman, injuries to two additional individuals, and damage to five tricycles and a Toyota Camry. DSP Olayinka Ayanlad, the police public relations officer, stated that efforts are being made to apprehend the fleeing driver.

The police have mobilized to the scene to facilitate the rescue and evacuation of the injured victims to the hospital and ensure the secure removal of the deceased to the mortuary. The Oyo State Police Command has urged the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police during the ongoing investigation, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic regulations to prevent further loss of life.
