Oyo Police Launch Campaign Against Cultism and Vices

On Friday, Oyo State Police Commissioner Femi Haruna launched a campaign aimed at eradicating cultism and other societal vices within the state. The campaign, which is part of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), was inaugurated at the Police Conference Hall in Eleyel, Ibadan.

During the event, Haruna emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating that police efforts will include visits to schools and worship centers to engage with students and parents. He highlighted the need to shift cultural perceptions surrounding cultism, encouraging youth to renounce such affiliations and embrace peace.

The campaign will provide educational materials like notebooks, bags, and pens to students, reinforcing the message that true strength lies in integrity and support for one another, rather than in secretive and violent behaviors associated with cultism.
