Atiku Criticizes Tinubu for Not Addressing Nation Post-Rescue

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu for failing to address the nation after the Nigerian Army successfully rescued kidnapped schoolchildren in Ogbomoso. In a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Frank Shaibu, Atiku commended the bravery and professionalism of the military and security agencies involved in the operation.

He noted that the President should have taken the opportunity to lead from the front and reassure anxious families, rather than merely issuing a brief announcement. Atiku emphasized that the Nigerian public expects their Commander-in-Chief to embody leadership during such significant moments, highlighting that the military's success against terrorism deserves visible recognition from the President.

He warned that the perception of political indifference could undermine public confidence and military morale, urging that the President should engage more actively with the nation during times of triumph and grief.
