Alaafin Oyo Calls for Enhanced Intelligence After Attack

Alaafin Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has advocated for a holistic approach to intelligence gathering in response to a terrorist attack in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, which occurred on Friday. The attack led to the abduction of four villagers and the death of two individuals, with significant property damage reported, including the burning of a car.

In a statement released by the Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, the Alaafin emphasized the need for credible investment in intelligence capabilities to identify threats and protect vulnerable targets such as schools and communities. He criticized the current reactive measures and called for a collaborative effort to build trust within communities to gather intelligence effectively.

The Alaafin also commended President Bola Tinubu for prioritizing security and assured affected families that justice would be pursued against the perpetrators. He urged the federal government to overhaul the country's security architecture and implement local security operations to combat the rising threat of terrorism.
