Oyo Police Dismiss Curfew Rumors After School Attack

The Oyo State Police Command, represented by Public Relations Officer Olayinka Ayanlade, has officially dismissed rumors regarding the imposition of a curfew and movement restrictions in Ibadan. This clarification comes in the wake of a coordinated attack on Baptist Nursery Primary School and Grammar School in Yawota Community, Oriir Local Government Area, which occurred on the penultimate Friday around 9:30 PM, resulting in the abduction of a teacher and students.

The police emphasized that there are no security concerns that would necessitate panic among residents. They assured the public that adequate security measures are in place and warned individuals and groups against spreading unverified reports that could incite unnecessary fear and distress.

The police urged the public to disregard misleading information and assured that any acts of misinformation would be investigated and dealt with according to the law.
