Tinubu Promises Rescue for Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that the government is committed to rescuing the abducted schoolchildren and teachers from Oyo State, following a violent attack by gunmen on Baptist Nursery and Primary School and other local schools. In a statement by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, it was confirmed that strategic rescue operations are already in progress.

Tinubu urged the National Assembly to expedite the enactment of laws to establish state police, which he believes will improve security in underserved areas. He expressed his condolences regarding the killing of a teacher during the attack and commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his response to the incident.

The President assured that security operations are working around the clock to rescue the victims and apprehend the bandits involved. The Inspector General of Police has been instructed to lead a tech-driven operation, with expectations of breakthroughs soon.

The President emphasized that local collaborators will face the full wrath of the law.
