PAAU Expels Six Students for Exam Misconduct

Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) in Anyigba, Kogi, expelled six 100-level students for examination misconduct after they were found to have rewritten an exam at the residence of Dr Maji Okpanachi, a lecturer in the Department of Plant Science and Biotechnology. The university's Senate made this decision during its 167th Regular Meeting on August 26, 2026.

The misconduct was reported on July 1, leading to the arrest of Dr Okpanachi and several students at his home, where evidence was recovered. The Examination Misconduct Committee's investigation revealed that the students had rewritten the BOT102 (Introduction to Plant Science) exam days after the original test, allegedly paying N10,000 each to participate.

The expelled students are Itodo Ojonugwa Jeremiah (26PL1071), Olloh Kizito Ojoajogwu (26PL1033), Okpanachi Favour (26PL1065), Abdulkadiri Senusi (26PL1031), Umar Imran (26PL1038), and Lawrence Salami (26PL1124). Additionally, the Senate withdrew nine other students for failing to register for two consecutive semesters and poor academic performance.
