PalmPay Launches NightGuard for Enhanced Transfer Security

PalmPay has introduced a new security feature called NightGuard, which provides customers with an additional verification step for transfers made during a user-defined timeframe between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. This feature is part of PalmPay’s upgraded Security Centre and aims to enhance security for digital transactions, particularly during night hours when users may be more vulnerable to scams and unauthorized access.

Femi Hanson, Head of PalmPay Nigeria Marketing, stated that while fraud can occur at any time, the risk increases at night, especially if a phone is compromised or lost. NightGuard allows customers to set a protection window, requiring extra verification for transfers made during this period, thereby giving users greater control over their account security.

PalmPay emphasizes that customer education is also crucial in improving digital-payment security. The feature is designed to provide an additional layer of protection without necessitating extra checks for every transaction.
