PalmPay Joins NPF-NCCC for Cybersecurity Awareness Walk

PalmPay supported the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) 2026 Cybersecurity Awareness Walk in Abuja, marking its second consecutive year of participation. The event, part of a three-day program themed “Towards a Resilient Cyberspace,” aimed to raise public awareness about cyber threats and promote safer online practices.
Mr Chika Nwosu, Managing Director of PalmPay Nigeria, stressed the need for collaboration and continuous education to combat cybercrime, noting the increasing sophistication of threats like phishing and social engineering. He commended the NPF-NCCC for its efforts in strengthening cybersecurity awareness and emphasized that technology alone cannot eliminate cybercrime without proactive customer education.
Nwosu mentioned the PalmPay Dey For You campaign, which educates customers on recognizing scams and securing their accounts. Deputy Inspector-General of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemelie reiterated the campaign's message: “Think Before You Click and Verify Before You Share.” PalmPay continues to promote safer digital financial practices and enhance security features in its app.
