Borno Police Command Loses Two ACPs in Two Days

The Borno Police Command is in a state of panic following the deaths of two Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) within a span of two days. The first to pass away was ACP Danjuma Muham, who died on February 20, 2026.

This was followed by the death of ACP Abubakar Balteh, who succumbed to injuries from a fatal motor accident on February 21, 2026. The command's spokesperson, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, issued a statement on Monday, February 21, 2026, expressing condolences and paying tribute to the deceased officers.

The statement was made during a briefing attended by members of the management team and heads of various divisions within the police command in Maiduguri. The sudden loss of these senior officers has raised concerns within the police force and the community.
