PAP Sends 15 Scholars to UK for Postgraduate Studies

The Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) has deployed 15 beneficiaries for postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom, as part of its foreign scholarship scheme. This initiative, announced during a pre-departure briefing at PAP headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, aims to prepare young Niger Delta leaders for future roles in peacebuilding and development.

The scholars will pursue master's degrees in fields such as biomedical science, oil and gas engineering, data science, cybersecurity, software engineering, and automotive engineering. Denni Otuaro, the PAP administrator, noted that the beneficiaries were selected based on strong academic performance, including first-class degrees in their undergraduate studies.

Each scholar received a laptop to support their academic work in the UK. Otuaro emphasized the importance of the scholarship program in fostering peace and development in the Niger Delta, underlining the commitment of President Bola Tinubu to this initiative.

The PAP, established in 2009, has evolved to focus on skill training and education to empower the region.
