Passengers Missing After Vehicle Plunges into River

On Saturday evening at approximately 6:45 p.m., a vehicle plunged into a river at Gidan Azara along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, resulting in several passengers reportedly missing. Efforts to recover the vehicle and ascertain the fate of its occupants were ongoing at the time of the report.

Local divers were deployed to the scene but were unable to recover the vehicle during their initial attempts, raising concerns about the safety of the passengers, whose identities and number were not immediately known. Personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other security agencies arrived to coordinate the recovery operation, with DCC Bello, the FRSC Officer Commanding the Corridor, overseeing efforts to locate the submerged vehicle and its occupants.
