Paul University in Awka has placed Anglican priest Cornelius C. Ez on indefinite suspension due to allegations of serious misconduct.

The announcement was made via a press release on July 17, 2026, signed by the university's public relations officer, Rev. Godisplan Onukwufor. The university management initiated an investigation into the allegations after they were brought to their attention on July 14, 2026.

This action was taken as a preliminary administrative measure to prevent a breakdown of law and order, as tensions reportedly arose among students. A video circulating on social media allegedly shows the suspended staff member attempting to flee the campus, although the authenticity of the video has not been independently verified.
