Tinubu Urges FCT Residents to Pay Taxes for Infrastructure

On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu urged residents and businesses in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to pay taxes and ground rents to enhance government revenue, which is critical for sustaining infrastructure development across the nation’s capital. This appeal coincided with the inauguration of the completed Arteri Road N5, linking Life Camp Junction to Ring Road III in Abuja's Dape District.

The project is expected to improve access to several growing communities, including the Idu Industrial District. Tinubu emphasized the importance of compliance with tax obligations, stating that it would empower the FCT administration to build necessary infrastructure.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to completing critical infrastructure projects, noting that the Arteri Road project was awarded in October 2024 and is set to be completed within the stipulated timeline. Tinubu praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his efforts in infrastructure delivery and highlighted the significant number of projects inaugurated during his administration's first three years.
