Paystack Fires Co-founder Over Misconduct Allegations, Sparks Outrage

Paystack, a prominent Nigerian fintech company, has dismissed its co-founder, Ezra Olubi, over allegations of sexual misconduct. The decision was made following a suspension and internal investigation that found Olubi in violation of company policies.

The misconduct allegations surfaced after screenshots of inappropriate comments made by Olubi between 2009 and 2013 went viral. This incident has led to widespread outrage, with civil society groups calling for a police investigation.

Paystack, founded by Shola Akinlade and Ezra Olubi in 2016 and later acquired by Stripe for $200 million in 2020, offers various payment solutions for businesses in Nigeria.
