PDP Accuses Kwara Govt of Removing Campaign Billboards

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara State chapter, has accused the state government of removing its campaign billboards across Ilorin in anticipation of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s turbanning ceremony scheduled for next week. The PDP specifically alleged that agents from the Kwara State Water Corporation forcefully removed a billboard belonging to its governorship candidate, Engr. Suleiman BolaKale Kawu, in the Agaka area of Ilorin.

In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara, the PDP characterized the removal as political intimidation, suggesting that the AbdulRazaq administration is uncomfortable with the party's increasing visibility. The PDP claimed that government agents were deployed to various locations in Ilorin to dismantle its billboards, particularly ahead of the governor's ceremony.

The party asserted that the removal of its campaign materials would not diminish its support among residents and urged the governor to cease these actions and focus on pressing issues affecting the electorate ahead of the 2027 elections.
