PDP Sets Presidential Nomination Form at ₦51 Million

The Nyesom Wike-backed faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed the cost of its presidential nomination form for the 2027 elections at ₦51 million. This decision was reached during a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) on April 20.

The breakdown of the cost includes ₦1 million for the nomination form and ₦50 million for the party chieftain amount. The PDP's primaries are already underway and will conclude on May 29.

Despite the faction's support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party is currently embroiled in a leadership crisis that emerged last year, leading to the formation of two factions: one led by Wike and the other by Abdulrahman Moham. The party's national leadership is under pressure to present a presidential candidate amidst these internal divisions.
