PDP Faction Accuses Judiciary of Bias in Legal Battle

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Taminu Turaki has accused the judiciary of bias in their ongoing legal battles. During a live appearance on Arise Television's Prime Time, Anthony Ehilebo, a member of Turaki's camp, expressed concerns that judges, particularly Justice James Omotosho, are unfairly handling their case.

The faction is appealing a ruling from the Court of Appeal in Abuja dated October 31, 2025, which seeks to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the 2025 national convention of the PDP. Ehilebo stated that the judges have consistently shown bias against their faction, suggesting that there is an attempt to sabotage their case.

He mentioned that the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) has recused certain justices, including Justice Abdulmalik and Justice Lifu, from hearing matters concerning their faction, indicating a serious concern about the integrity of the judicial process in their case.
