Wike Faction Gains Saraki, Lamido Support Ahead of PDP Convention

The Wike faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that prominent figures, including former Senate President Bukola Saraki and former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, have joined their ranks. This development comes as the faction prepares for a convention scheduled for March 29.

Jungudo Haruna, the faction's spokesman, held a press briefing on Saturday, addressing concerns regarding a court injunction that could potentially disrupt the convention. He asserted that the faction is fully compliant with party regulations and the law, emphasizing their commitment to a credible, transparent, and inclusive convention that reflects the aspirations of party members across the country.

Haruna urged members to remain calm and focused, while also extending an invitation for reconciliation to those who feel aggrieved. He stated that the success of the convention depends on collective discipline and unity within the party, underscoring the importance of orderly conduct by delegates.
