Wike's PDP Faction Visits Saraki Ahead of Convention

On Friday, leaders from the Nyesom Wike faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) visited former Senate President Bukola Saraki at his residence. The delegation, which included the chairman and legal adviser of the faction, expressed appreciation for Saraki's contributions to the ongoing reconciliation efforts within the party.

This visit comes just ahead of the PDP's national convention scheduled for Sunday, which is critical for the party's future. Saraki, a former governor of Kwara State, noted that the visit was timely, especially following a recent convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, from November 15-16, 2025, which was led by Kabiru Turaki and exacerbated the party's internal crisis.

Saraki advised against the upcoming national convention, warning that the faction's failure to heed his counsel could lead to further divisions within the PDP, which is already facing serious legal battles and internal strife.
