PDP Factions Engage in Talks to Resolve Leadership Crisis

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) is initiating fresh reconciliation talks to address ongoing leadership crises that have divided the party since November last year. Key figures in these discussions include Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, and Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State.

The talks were confirmed by Tanimu Turaki, who leads the National Working Committee (NWC). The NWC is seeking to restore unity within the party ahead of the national convention scheduled for March 29-30.

The crisis intensified after a court ruling on March 9 nullified the outcomes of the previous convention held in Ibadan. Despite the ongoing disputes, both factions have agreed to establish a team to address contentious issues directly, without intermediaries.

The factions aim to avoid further legal actions and are encouraged to tone down inflammatory statements to facilitate a peaceful resolution.
