PDP Crisis Will Soon End, Says South West Chairman Ajisafe

Kamorudeen Ajisafe, the South West chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), stated on Tuesday that the internal crisis affecting the party will soon be resolved. He expressed confidence that the PDP will win state and national assembly seats in the South West region during the 2027 general elections.

Ajisafe's comments come amid ongoing factional disputes within the party, which have weakened its previously dominant position in Nigeria. The crisis involves a faction led by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and another faction led by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, who have held separate conventions resulting in parallel national working committees.

Despite these challenges, Ajisafe assured that efforts are being made to ensure PDP aspirants are not left stranded and that the party will bounce back to achieve significant electoral victories in 2027. He also emphasized the need for unity and warned against any attempts to incite traditional institutions against Governor Makinde.
