PDP Factions Signal Reconciliation After Court Advisory

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) factions are indicating readiness for reconciliation after an advisory from the Appeal Court. The factions, one loyal to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, and the other led by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, are urged to resolve their differences amicably.

This development follows an advisory given by Justice Biobel Georgewil during an appeal hearing, which has been adjourned until March 11, 2025. The court is set to hear appeals seeking to overturn conflicting judgments from the Federal High Court in Ibadan regarding the legitimacy of the party's leadership.

The factions are currently in dialogue, with Samuel Anyanwu from the Makinde faction stating that while direct meetings have not occurred, efforts to mediate are ongoing. Both factions express a desire for reconciliation to strengthen the party and ensure its survival in future elections.
