PDP Holds 109th NEC Meeting, Presents Certificates of Return

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) convened its 109th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Wednesday at the party's national secretariat in Abuja. The meeting was attended by members of the National Working Committee (NWC), governors, former governors, and members of the Board of Trustees (BoT).

It commenced with a session at 11:00 a.m. for the NWC, followed by a meeting of the BoT at noon, and the main NEC meeting starting at 2:00 p.m. The agenda included reviewing developments within the PDP, assessing ongoing reconciliation efforts, and charting a course to strengthen the party in preparation for future electoral contests.

The leadership also presented Certificates of Return to newly elected party officials, marking a significant step in consolidating the party's internal democratic processes. This meeting comes at a crucial time as the PDP seeks to reposition itself as a formidable opposition platform in light of recent political developments in the country.

Additionally, a faction led by Tanimu Turaki is scheduled to meet regarding gubernatorial candidates.
