PDP Defends Wike Against APC Governors' Criticism

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has responded to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum's rejection of political support from Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Honourable Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, stated on Tuesday in Abuja that the APC governors are misdirecting their frustrations by blaming Wike for their political difficulties.

He asserted that the real issue lies in their poor governance and failure to meet the expectations of their constituents. Mohammed argued that the governors' opposition to Wike's support for President Bola Tinubu stems from fears of their records being scrutinized ahead of the 2027 elections.

He maintained that Wike has the constitutional right to support any political figure without abandoning his PDP identity. Mohammed described the demand for Wike to refrain from supporting candidates against APC governors as a significant political miscalculation.

He urged the APC governors to focus on governance and accountability, asserting that Wike is an asset to Tinubu's political ambitions.
